Passport

British passport holders should have at least six months validity remaining from the date of travel and the passport should be less than 10 years old, except when travelling to Ireland. If an adult passport was renewed before expiry, extra months may have been added, but these extra months may not count for some destinations.

Passport applications can take time, so we advise travellers to check passport validity as early as possible. British passport holders can no longer use EU or EEA passport lanes and may be asked to show a return or onward ticket and evidence of sufficient funds.

Insurance

Travel insurance is included as standard on all new bookings after 1 January 2022 unless otherwise stated or opted out. If arranging your own travel insurance, please check the cover carefully and provide details of your insurer.

Health

Existing European Health Insurance Cards remain valid for EU travel until they expire. Travellers can apply for a free Global Health Insurance Card through the official NHS website when needed. Both cards provide equivalent emergency and medically necessary healthcare protection when temporarily staying in the EU.

Visas and Entry Requirements

Visa and entry requirements vary by destination and nationality. We recommend checking requirements at least two months before departure. Non-British passport holders may require visas or transit visas and should check with the relevant embassy.

Eligible travellers visiting the USA usually need an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation. British citizens travelling to participating European countries should also check current European entry requirements before travel.

Data Roaming

Free mobile roaming throughout the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway is no longer guaranteed. Check with your phone operator before travelling.

Food and Drink

There are restrictions on taking some food products into European countries, including meat and milk products or products containing them. Check current rules before departure.
